Isabella Garcia-Mendez

Isabella's passion for multimedia storytelling is rooted in a deep-seated desire to creatively and artistically showcase narratives spanning various communities, cultures, organizations, and industries. Whether from a journalistic approach or integrated into marketing and branding endeavors, her objective remains to engage audiences with compelling storytelling.

Isabella, a trilingual California native of Mexican descent, holds a dual bachelor's degree in Political Science and French from the University of California, Berkeley. With three years of experience as a project manager in the tech industry, she adeptly navigates diverse industries and audiences, confidently tackling any project.

Isabella recently earned her master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. There, she focused on multimedia storytelling, including audio and video production while co-publishing a book and delving into the intersection of business and journalism.

Isabella excels in digital and experiential marketing, specializing in retail and fashion. Notably, she reshaped Victoria’s Secret PINK's social media engagement as a Campus Representative and Copywriting Intern. Isabella also served as an ambassador for Peet’s Coffee and ZipCar, and led the rebranding of a popular UC Berkeley restaurant bar.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Isabella is a musician, singer, Pilates and Barre enthusiast, volleyball coach, and avid traveler. She actively participates in alumni groups for UC Berkeley and Columbia. Isabella looks forward to the opportunity to collaborate!

Vanessa Garcia

With a passion for television news and all things media, Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

She has experience producing short-form video packages tailored for television news, in-depth long-form videos with a documentary-style approach, and audio production for radio news and character-driven podcasting.

Vanessa thrives on the challenge of bringing stories to life. She holds skills to craft narrative stories with a multifaceted approach, ranging from pitching, storyboarding, shooting, and scriptwriting to the detailed nuances of editing, scoring, sound design, and final production. She strives to deliver compelling visual or audio narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Her journey in journalism has equipped her with the necessary understanding of the impact that well-told stories can have on viewers.

Her portfolio includes a co-reported and produced investigative true crime podcast episode published on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, along with her variety of in-depth broadcast news reports and a short-form documentary.

Sabrina Torres

Serving as Anahjavi's Chief Cinematography Officer and Executive Storytelling Producer, Sabrina infuses her Columbia University Journalism master's degree into the dynamic realm of media production. Rooted in Los Angeles, Sabrina adeptly combines her experience in investigative research, culture writing, and narrative storytelling with a visual focus on photo and video storytelling. Her portfolio includes the production of a podcast, a captivating short documentary, and a compelling culture piece for Rolling Stone magazine, alongside valuable experience in implementing digital marketing initiatives across various social media platforms.
